Yam rice recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 6 minced shallots
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 60 g dried shrimps, soaked to soften
  • 350 g yam, cut into cubes
  • 150 g cleaned and shredded pork belly
  • 580 g fragrant rice
  • 1/2 tbsp chicken seasoning powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 850ml water
  • 1 bunch chopped coriander
  • 1 stalked sliced scallions
  • 2 tbsp fried shallots

Methods / instructions

  1. Heat oil and saute shallots and garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add dried shrimps, pork and yam. Stir for 3 minutes.
  3. Add in rice and seasoning ingredients.
  4. Pour the content into electric rice cooker and add in water.
  5. When yam rice is cooked, add in remaining ingredients on top and serve immediately.
