Laotian or Cambodian cuisine is pretty much influenced by Thailand and Vietnam, since they are one of the neighboring countries. Cambodian food usually involves fresh herbs, garlic, ginger, galangal, lime leaves, coriander, mint and basil as the ingredients. Cambodia cuisine are also much influenced by China and India due to its trading activities many years ago.

A typical Laos food consist of tropical fruits, rice or noodles, variety of soups, curries, desserts and drinks. The staple food for Laotian is rice and noodles. There are many types of rice available such as aromatic rice, white rice, brown rice to be served with soups, curries and stir fry food while glutinous or sticky rice is used more for desserts or with fruits.
