Rice cake in hot sauce recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 8 oz tube shape rice cake (ddeokbokee ddeok)
  • 2 tbsp Korean chili paste (gochoojang)
  • 1 tbsp Korean chili powder (gochoogaroo)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/2 roughly chopped onion
  • 1/4 roughly chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 sliced carrot
  • 1 chopped green onion
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 sheets fish cake, cut into bite size pieces
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Methods / instructions

  1. Place rice cake in pot with enough water to cover.
  2. Cook until soft and add in chili paste, chili powder, sugar, soy sauce and pepper.
  3. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer until sauce thickens.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot..
