Beef & rice cake soup recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp mashed peeled garlic
  • 1 1/2 tbsp mashed peeled ginger
  • 150 g sliced prime beef
  • 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 250 g Korean rice cakes
  • 4 cups kelp broth
  • 1 tsp lightly toasted white sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 stalk chopped scallions

Methods / instructions

  1. Heat oil and saute garlic and ginger until aromatic.
  2. Add beef and soy sauce and stir fry until done.
  3. Pour in kelp broth and bring to boil.
  4. Season well with salt.
  5. Boil rice cakes and transfer into soup bowl.
  6. Pour soup over and top with remaining ingredients.
  7. Serve hot.
