Sweet red bean soup with rice cakes recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 400 g can sweetened boiled azuki beans
  • 400ml water
  • 4 dried Japanese rice cakes (mochi)

Methods / instructions

  1. Bring azuki beans in water to boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 18 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, place mochi under hot grill and grill for 6 minutes.
  4. Serve bean soup with rice cake.
