Sashimi tuna rice with roasted seaweed recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 5 cups cooked Japanese rice
  • 1/2 tsp dashi powder dissolved in 400 ml water
  • 2 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp mirin
  • 1 1/2 tsp wasabi paste
  • 1 sheet toasted and thinly sliced nori (seaweed)
  • 350 g thinly sliced sashimi quality tuna
  • 2 tbsp red pickled ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Methods / instructions

  1. Divide rice equally among 4 bowls.
  2. Mix well dashi mixture, soy sauce, mirin and wasabi and pour over rice.
  3. Top with nori and tuna on rice.
  4. Sprinkle with pickled ginger and sesame seeds.
