Grilled chicken skew recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 3/4 tbsp sugar
  • 60 ml mirin
  • 120 ml soy sauce
  • 120 ml sake
  • 450 g diced chicken meat
  • 150 g diced chicken liver
  • 4 quartered shiitake mushrooms
  • 2 diced bell peppers
  • 1 sliced leek
  • 18 skewers seven spice chili powder

Methods / instructions

  1. To make the sauce, mix the first 4 ingredients from the list in a heavy saucepan and bring to boil.
  2. Reduce heat and cook until the sauce is reduced to a cup.
  3. Thread chicken, liver, mushroom, leek and bell pepper onto skewers.
  4. Heat broiler and baste ingredients with sauce.
  5. Broil for 3 minutes and baste with sauce frequently.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle 7 spice chili powder on top.
  7. Serve immediately.
