Deep fried baby octopus recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 100 ml sake
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 kg cleaned baby octopuses
  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 70 g all purpose flour oil for deep-frying

Methods / instructions

  1. Mix sake and soy sauce in a small bowl and pour over octopuses. Refrigerate it overnight.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by mixing Worcestershire sauce, tomato ketchup and lemon juice. Set aside.
  3. Take out octopuses from refrigerator, drain and dredge in flour.
  4. Heat oil and deep fry octopuses until cooked.
  5. Drain on kitchen paper towel and serve with sauce.
