Ingredients /nutrition
- 2 tsp sunflower oil
- 100 g thinly sliced onion
- 250 g thinly sliced beef steak or shoulder
- 1/2 tsp dashi powder dissolved in 125 ml water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 1/4 tbsp sake
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 5 cups cooked Japanese rice
- 2 tbsp red pickled ginger
Methods / instructions
- Heat oil and sweat onion for a minite.
- Add in beef and brown beef.
- Add in dashi mixture, soy sauce, sake and sugar. Cook until beef is done per your preference and sauce thickens.
- Serve beef with rice and top with pickled ginger.
