Sweet & sour turmeric fish recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 150 g shallots
  • 10 g fresh turmeric
  • 10 g ginger
  • 5 candlenuts
  • vegetable oil
  • 4 slices red snapper
  • 1 sliced carrot
  • 2 sliced onions
  • 500 ml water
  • 3 sliced green chilies
  • 5 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Methods / instructions

  1. Grind garlic, shallots, turmeric, ginger and candlenuts using a food processor or blender until form a smooth paste.
  2. Heat up oil and fry fish slices until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. Heat up oil and saute ground paste until aromatic.
  4. Stir in carrots, onions and water.
  5. Cook until carrots softened, return fish and add in remaining ingredients.
  6. Stir briefly and serve hot.
