Onion chicken recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 2 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 crushed red chili
  • 2 grated candlenuts
  • 1/4 roll shrimp paste
  • 1 kg chicken, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 tbsp tamarind juice
  • 1 tsp sweet soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • salt to taste

Methods / instructions

  1. Heat up oil and saute onion and garlic until golden brown.
  2. Add in brown sugar, chili, candlenuts and shrimp paste.
  3. Stir well and add in chicken pieces.
  4. Add in remaining ingredients.
  5. Cook, covered until chicken is cooked and sauce has thickens.
  6. Serve immediately.
