- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 grated candlenuts
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1 crushed red chili
- 1/2 tsp lemon grass
- 1 tbsp tamarind juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 thinly sliced hard boiled egg
- aluminum foil for wrapping
Methods / instructions
- Combine the first 11 ingredients from the list in a big mixing bowl and mix well.
- Heat up oil and fry beef mixture until brown.
- Add in coconut milk and simmer gently until sauce thickens.
- Wrap beef in aluminum foil squares and place a slice of egg on each square.
- Top with beef mixture and seal both ends.
- Steam in double boiler for an hour.
- Serve hot.
