Ingredients /nutrition
- 6 dried chilies, soaked in hot water for 20 minutes and drained
- 120 g shallots
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 stalk lemon grass
- 2 tsp shrimp paste (belacan)
- vegetable oil
- 450 g prawns
- 150 g Indonesian green peas (petai)
- 20 g tamarind paste mix with 150 ml water
- some salt
Methods / instructions
- Combine dried chilies, shallots, garlic cloves, lemon grass and shrimp paste in a food processor and blender. Process to form a smooth paste.
- Heat up oil in a pan and saute grinded paste until aromatic.
- Add in remaining ingredients and cook until shrimps are cooked.
- Serve hot with boiled fragrant rice.
