Fried beef patties recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 60 g peeled potatoes vegetable oil
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 150 g shallots
  • 20 g ginger
  • 10 g turmeric
  • 2 lightly beaten eggs
  • 2 chopped green chilies
  • 2 chopped red chilies
  • 2 stalks diced spring onion
  • 180 g minced beef
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 lightly beaten egg white
  • 80 g breadcrumbs

Methods / instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in water and mash them.
  2. Heat up some oil and pan fry mashed potatoes until fragrant. Set aside.
  3. Grind garlic, shallots, ginger and turmeric into paste. Set aside.
  4. In heated oil, add in paste puree, beaten eggs, green chilies, red chilies and spring onions.
  5. Saute until fragrant and add in beef, pepper, salt and mashed potatoes.
  6. Set aside to cool and mould into patties.
  7. Coat beef patties with egg white and breadcrumbs.
  8. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  9. Serve hot with burgers or as it is.
