Spicy anchovies recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 250 g dried anchovies
  • 4 chopped red chilies
  • 6 peeled shallots
  • 1 calamansi, squeeze juice and grate skin hair fine
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp sugar

Methods / instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok or heavy saucepan.
  2. Fry anchovies until crispy and remove from heat.
  3. Mix fried anchovies with remaining ingredients and pound lightly.
  4. Serve with boiled fragrant rice.
