Ingredients /nutrition
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp chopped fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp tamarind pulp, soaked in hot water for 8 minutes and reserve juice
- 1 tbsp ground coriander
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ground fenugreek
- 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 500 g fish fillet, cut into bite size pieces
- 1 tsp salt
Methods / instructions
- Blend onion, garlic, ginger and tamarind liquid in a food processor or blender to form a smooth paste.
- Add in ground spices.
- Heat oil in a heavy saucepan and saute mixture until thickens.
- Add remaining ingredients and water enough to cover fish.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer gently.
- Serve hot.
