Chicken curry yogurt recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 1 1/2 kg chicken, cut into bite pieces
  • 3 diced tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp corn oil
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 star anise
  • 4 cloves
  • 3 cardamoms
  • 1 diced onion
  • 3 potatoes, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup yoghurt
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce

Methods / instructions

  1. Marinate chicken and tomatoes with curry powder and salt. Set aside for an hour.
  2. Heat oil and add cinnamon, star anise, cloves, cardamoms and onion.
  3. Stir fry for 2 1/2 minutes.
  4. Stir in marinated chicken and remaining ingredients.
  5. Cook until potatoes soften and gravy thickens.
  6. Serve hot with boiled rice, naan bread or white bread.
