Chapattis recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 5 oz plain flour
  • 5 oz whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 fl oz water
  • 2 oz melted butter

Methods / instructions

  1. Add flours and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Make a well in the middle and add water one at a time.
  3. Use your fingers to make smooth dough.
  4. Knead dough on a floured working surface for 6 minutes.
  5. Wrap dough with plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Divide dough into a dozen pieces and roll out to about 5 inches diameter round.
  7. Heat non stick frying pan and cook dough one at a time.
  8. Remove from heat when chapatti is golden brown.
  9. Repeat for remaining dough.
  10. Serve warm with melted butter.
