Briyani rice recipe

Ingredients /nutrition

  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 12 thinly sliced shallots
  • 650 g Basmati long grain rice, soaked in water for 30 minutes and drained
  • 6 cloves
  • 2 star anises
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 5 1/4 cups water
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 g saffron, soaked in warm water

Methods / instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and saute shallots until golden bron.
  2. Add in rice, cloves, start anises and raisins.
  3. Stir fry for 4 minutes and pour in water with salt.
  4. Bring to boil and transfer rice content into rice cooker.
  5. Cook until the rice is done and pour in saffron liquid.
  6. Keep warm in rice cooker until needed for serving.
