Wonton soup recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 26 wonton wrappers
  • 100 g finely minced chicken
  • 1 peeled and grated root ginger
  • 3 finely chopped spring onions
  • 3 tbsp chopped Chinese parsley
  • 1 lightly beaten egg
  • 1.5 l chicken stock
  • 10 ml dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Lay flat all wonton wrappers on a flat working board.
  2. Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine chicken, ginger, spring onion and parsley.
  3. Brush edge of wonton wrappers with egg and place a small amount of chicken mixture on half of the wrapper.
  4. Fold the other half to form a triangle shape.
  5. Seal the edge by pressing lightly.
  6. Bring stock to boil in a saucepan and add in prepared wontons.
  7. Simmer for 8 minutes. The wontons are cooked when they float to the surface.
  8. Add remaining ingredients for seasoning.
  9. Serve immediately.
