Ingredients (nutrition)
- 2 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 thinly sliced onion
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 3 1/2 oz rump steak, cut into bite size pieces
- 1/4 pt chicken stock
- 1/2 tsp ginger sherry
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1/4 tsp soy sauce
- 3/4 tsp cornflour
- 1 tsp water
Preparation (instructions)
- Heat 1 1/2 tbsp oil in a deep skillet.
- Sweat onion until browned, remove and set aside.
- Put remaining oil in the skillet and fry garlic until golden. Discard garlic.
- Add in meat in the same skillet and cook for a minute. Remove from heat and mix with reserved onion. Set aside.
- Using the same skillet, add in stock, ginger sherry, salt, sugar and soy sauce.
- Bring to boil, add in cornflour and water. Boil for a minute.
- Return beef and onion in the skillet and heat through for 30 seconds.
- Serve hot with boiled white rice.
