Lotus leaf spareribs recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 550 g spareribs, cut into bite size pieces
  • 2 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp grated garlic
  • 1 fermented red bean curd
  • 1/2 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp Chinese wine (Shaoxing Huadiao)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 25 g rice flour
  • 3 soaked and drained lotus leaves

Preparation (instructions)

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix well all ingredients except rice flour and lotus leaves.
  2. Coat spare ribs with rice flour and wrap in lotus leaves.
  3. Steam in a double broiler for 1 1/2 hour.
  4. Serve at once.
