Crab meat dumplings recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

For Dumpling Wrap

  • 230 g flour
  • 130 ml hot water

For Fillings

  • 1 1/2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped spring onions
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped root ginger
  • 8 soaked and chopped Chinese fried mushrooms
  • 220 g crab meat flakes
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dry sherry

Preparation (instructions)

  1. To make dumplings, sift flour in a big bowl and make a well in the middle.
  2. Pour in water in the well and use your fingers to draw the flour and water until a dough is formed.
  3. Transfer dough on a floured working surface and knead until smooth and not stick to your hand.
  4. Set aside for 40 minutes.
  5. To make the filling, heat up oil in a heavy frying pan and stir fry filling ingredients for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and set aside.
  7. Roll out dough into a sausage and slice dough about 3 cm. Flatten slightly.
  8. Scoop a teaspoon of filling and place on each flatten dough.
  9. Fold over circle to make a semi circle and seal the edge. Repeat until complete.
  10. Place prepared dumplings in a steamer filled with boiling water.
  11. Steam for 12 minutes and serve immediately.
