Ingredients (nutrition)
For Dumpling Wrap
- 230 g flour
- 130 ml hot water
For Fillings
- 1 1/2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1 tbsp chopped spring onions
- 1 tbsp finely chopped root ginger
- 8 soaked and chopped Chinese fried mushrooms
- 220 g crab meat flakes
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp dry sherry
Preparation (instructions)
- To make dumplings, sift flour in a big bowl and make a well in the middle.
- Pour in water in the well and use your fingers to draw the flour and water until a dough is formed.
- Transfer dough on a floured working surface and knead until smooth and not stick to your hand.
- Set aside for 40 minutes.
- To make the filling, heat up oil in a heavy frying pan and stir fry filling ingredients for 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Roll out dough into a sausage and slice dough about 3 cm. Flatten slightly.
- Scoop a teaspoon of filling and place on each flatten dough.
- Fold over circle to make a semi circle and seal the edge. Repeat until complete.
- Place prepared dumplings in a steamer filled with boiling water.
- Steam for 12 minutes and serve immediately.
