Beef with broccoli recipe

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 450 g rump steak, cut into thin strips
  • 3 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 tbsp dry sherry
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 5 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 200 g broccoli, broken into florets
  • 1 peeled and shredded root ginger
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Mix well meat with soy sauce, cornflour, dry sherry and sugar in a big bowl.
  2. Cover with cling film and allow to marinate for half an hour.
  3. Heat 1 1/2 tbsp oil in a heavy skillet and stir fry broccoli for 1 1/2 minutes.
  4. Remove broccoli and set aside.
  5. Add remaining oil in the skillet and stir fry ginger and marinated beef for 2 minutes.
  6. Return broccoli into skillet and give a good toss.
  7. Serve immediately.
