Rakhine noodle recipe - Rakhine Moat-tee

Ingredients (nutrition)

  • 1 lb fish
  • 2 tbsp shrimp paste
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 4 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 qt water
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp pea powder
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp tamarind
  • 8 grinded chilies
  • 3 lb boiled thin rice noodle

Preparation (instructions)

  1. Add first 6 ingredients and bring to boil.
  2. Remove 1/3 of boiled fish from pan, dry in pan to get fish powder with 1 tsp oil.
  3. Fry 2 tsp chili powder with remaining oil in a pan.
  4. In each serving plate, add grinded chili, tamarind paste with water, cooked pea powder and cooked chili powder.
  5. Serve rice noodle in serving bowls.
  6. Serve fish soup in another separate serving bowls.
