Ingredients (nutrition)
- 1½ lb peeled prawns
- 1½ tbsp soy sauce
- ¾ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 tsp sunflower oil
- 3 peeled and crushed garlic cloves
- 1½ peeled and pounded onion
- ½ in peeled and pounded ginger
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 4 coarsely chopped tomatoes
- 1½ tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 6 tbsp water
Preparation (instructions)
- Rub prawns with soy sauce, turmeric and soy sauce. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and saute garlic, onion, ginger and chili powder for 2 minutes.
- Stir in prawns, tomatoes and coriander leaves.
- Increase heat, cover and cook for 4 minutes.
- Stir in water and simmer gently for 12 minutes.
- Serve warm with steamed white rice.
